PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Back to school lists are not just for kids. Teachers have supply lists as well and BayPort has an offer to assist teachers with their financial needs.
BayPort's Vice President of Marketing, Monte Crowl stopped by to tell us more.
-Teacher Grant Program is designed to fund innovative financial literacy programs for school children.
-25 grants valued up to $300 each available for the 2012-2013 school year.
-You do not have to be a member of BayPort Credit Union to apply
-So how will teachers be able to use these funds?
-The grants are designed to meet the financial needs placed on the teachers to meet the SOL requirements and other projects that promote financial literacy in the classroom.
-Are all grade level teachers eligible? (YES)
-Elementary and middle school teachers
-Public, private and home-schooled
-High School teachers may apply for funding in support of the FoolProof financial literacy program offered by BayPort Credit Union
-What is FoolProof?
-Must be enrolled for the 2012-2013 school year to qualify.
