NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - One of the longest running Jewish Film Festivals in the country is happening right here in Hampton Roads. The 20th Annual Virginia Festival of Jewish Film kicks off on Jan. 19 at the Simon Family JCC.
The festival will be held at The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach. The first film is Hava Nagila, an uplifting documentary about the history of the popular Jewish song. It will be followed by a Gala Reception.
The Festival continues January 20-27 at The TCC Roper Performing Arts Center in downtown Norfolk, with nine additional films. There will be a variety of films shown from comedies to dramas to documentaries. These are films you will not see at any other theaters in the area. The films are from all over the world including Israel, Croatia and France.
