VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - He's worked in sophisticated restaurants and traveled the world, all for the love of wine. Sommelier, Marc Sauter started studying wine when he was 13-years old and now he's turned his hobby into a career. Hear more about his passion for wine in this week's I Am Hampton Roads.
Marc is in the process of working on a food and wine pairing cookbook. He also teaches a wine class every other month called "Sensory Analysis Wine Classes." His next class is August 19th.
You taste 9 wines ranging in price up to $150, but it is the sensory analysis learning that is the whole focus and the part they learn the most.
They are always held on Sundays from 2-5 p.m. and the cost is $59/person.
He limits the classes to 16 people so that it can be intimate and fun.
Marc is the in-house Sommelier at Zoes Steak and Seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach.
