Thanksgiving closings for Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - The City of Portsmouth will be closing several city offices for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The following will close at noon Wednesday, Nov. 21 and will remain closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23:

  • All city offices
  • Public libraries

Portsmouth museums will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 and will remain closed Thursday, Nov. 23. Museums will be open Friday, Nov. 23.

Recreation centers will close at noon Wednesday, Nov. 21 and will remain closed Thursday, Nov. 22, Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24.

The Portsmouth Visitor Center will close at noon Wednesday, Nov. 21 and will remain closed Thursday, Nov. 22. It will reopen Friday, Nov. 23.

The Links Golf Course and Bide-A-Wee Golf Course will open on a normal schedule throughout the holiday.

No trash and bulk collections will be held on Thursday. Collections scheduled for Thursday will be picked up Wednesday, Nov. 21. Collections scheduled for Friday will take place as normal.
