NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Not every child can hear Santa's "Ho Ho Ho's," which is why a sign language Santa is making an appearance at the MacArthur Center.

"Every time we go to the mall, he has to go see Santa Claus even if we're there for only five minutes," said Kelly Gibson.

Gibson's son Sawyer is deaf but Thursday, him and other deaf children were able to communicate with a special sign language Santa Claus at MacArthur Center.

"The kids are so excited to have Santa and communicate in the language they use, American Sign Language," Karen Winters said.

The sign language Santa will be at MacArthur until 9 p.m. Thursday evening.
