'Glee' uninvited from Macy's parade

'The talent booking process is a fluid one'

NEW YORK - The cast of Fox's hit show "Glee" was set to appear at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City next month, but now it's a no-go.

TMZ first reported on Tuesday that "Glee" producers signed an agreement with Macy's to have their cast take part in the event. But when NBC, the network on which the parade airs, found out, they reportedly told the department store to scrap the plans.

Macy's spokesperson Orlando Veras told EW.com , "As with any live event, the talent booking process is a fluid one subject to frequent updates or changes. Due to this fact, we don’t confirm talent appearances for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade until early November when the final line-up is determined."

EW.com adds that there will be appearances by "American Idol" singers and "High School Musical" actors, but because all of the actors on "Glee" were scheduled to appear, NBC was concerned it was outright promotion of the show.

On Tuesday "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy issued a statement that said, "I completely understand NBC's position, and look forward to seeing a Jay Leno float."

Although the "Glee" cast won't be in New York, there are rumors that Murphy may be planning a live tour with the cast sometime next year, according to E! Online.
