VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Tallwood High School students are promoting the W82TXT campaign.
The school is starting a club to promote traffic safety and curb destructive driving.
W82TXT is a community awareness campaign to encourage drivers not to text while driving.
You can pick up a blue thumb band at a number of locations throughout the area with the W82TXT message and pledge to not text while driving.
The thumb bands are designed to remind drivers of their pledge.
The goal of the campaign is to get more than 150,000 drivers to take the pledge.
