NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Hundreds of students were at the Hampton University student center during a WAVY TV W82TXT event on Friday.
W82TXT is a community awareness campaign to encourage drivers not to text while behind the wheel.
10 On Your Side's Don Roberts broadcasted live from Hampton University to encourage students not to text while driving.
This was the first college campus WAVY has visited with the W82TXT campaign.
The goal of the campaign is to get more than 150,000 drivers to take the "Wait to Text" pledge.
You can take the pledge by CLICKING HERE . Then, pick up your thumb-band at any Hall Automotive Dealership or Langley Federal Credit Union location in Hampton Roads.
