VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Some Virginia Beach students got a lesson on interviewing via Skype technology on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.

WAVY.com's Nicole Livas chatted from her laptop with fifth graders at Linkhorn Park Elementary .

They are in the Math and Science Academy and they're working on an American Revolution technology project, in conjunction with the computer resource teacher who is working on a grant.

The students asked questions about researching, writing and reporting. They also wanted to know about the technology used in television newsrooms.

Nicole told them how the Internet and social networking have become a big part of how broadcast news stories are now shared.

As an example, Nicole posted a Twitter comment about her Skype session with the class and posted a picture of it on her Facebook page during the interview.
