PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Career day was special at Brighton Elementary. Not only was it held in the auditorium of their shiny new school, the Brighton kids were treated to a presentation from two celebrities in one. Their mayor, James Holley, also happens to be a dentist.
Just about every major department in the city of Portsmouth sent a representative. The kids thought that was pretty neat.
When my turn came, my message was simple: "You don't have to make up your mind today - BUT, start thinking about the answers to a number of questions: What you LIKE to do, what you do well, what career do you find interesting and could see yourself doing, and what kind of job would you do- even if "they" didn't pay you? Good luck Brighton kids and - whatever you choose, do your best!
