Our next honoree lives for and loves animals, all of them. In 2005 she founded Web of Life Animal Outreach, Inc. – a no-kill, all-companion animal sanctuary to help tackle the Hampton Roads homeless animal problem. She spends countless hours caring for about 130 animals. She led a team of local rescue workers to the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina and brought 58 cats and dogs back here to re-home. She works to raise funds and public awareness for animal rescue and also provides low-cost boarding for deployed military. She takes in all animals all the time and gives them a home, some food and most of all love – a small thing, with great love.
