"Every human being has something to do and that something to do
is not just for them, but its to make a difference in the world."
-- Ken Cohen
This honoree is not only an amazing volunteer but also quite
the wordsmith as you can tell by that quote. Those who know him
call him a superhero to the people with developmental and
intellectual disabilities in South Hampton Roads. Over the past 25
years hes worked on behalf of Hope House Foundation - volunteering
more than 250 hours per year. His efforts are described as critical
to every hope house fundraising event. He does it all - from
setting up tables to coming up with creative ways to bring more
money to the fundraisers-especially the Stockley Gardens Art
Festival. He is also involved and committed to other organizations.
He's the Treasurer of Nautical Adventures and the Jewish War
Veterans Monument Fund. He has also been an active volunteer for
the American Diabetes Association and St. Judes Childrens Research
Hospital. Not even dealing with the pain from a serious back injury
or the grief from the death of his father could keep him from his
mission to advance the cause of those in need. His unwavering
commitment to make a difference in the world, makes Ken Cohen one
of WAVY-TV's 10 Who Care.
