NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - “THE MORAL TEST OF A SOCIETY IS HOW THAT SOCIETY TREATS THOSE WHO ARE IN THE DAWN OF LIFE -- THE CHILDREN; THOSE WHO ARE IN THE TWILIGHT OF LIFE -- THE ELDERLY; AND THOSE WHO ARE IN THE SHADOW OF LIFE -- THE SICK, THE NEEDY AND THE HANDICAPPED.” --HUBERT HUMPHREY
Our next honoree passes Humphrey’s moral test with flying colors. By the age of 29, he has managed to raise more than $150,000 for charities such as the A.L.S. Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children’s Performances of Hampton Roads and Hope House Foundation to name a few.
He volunteers over 300 hours per year to make a difference in our community. You may have heard of the popular “bar crawls”. This honoree began the famous event in 2006 and has managed to grow the events to four events in three cities.
Despite maintaining his full-time job and being a newlywed, he strives to make an impact in our community… and the beneficiaries of his efforts asked US to thank HIM. And we do.
Our Partners On Your Side and WAVY-TV honor SCOTT GUIRLINGER as one of our 10 WHO CARE.
