NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - SOMEONE ONCE SAID – “YOU WILL FIND AS YOU LOOK BACK UPON YOUR LIFE, THAT THE MOMENTS THAT STAND OUT ARE THE MOMENTS WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THINGS FOR OTHERS.”
These honorees can look back together and smile at what they have done for Edmarc Hospice for Children.
They learned of Edmarc through the Gosport Arts Festival -- first as participants in the festival, then directly volunteering with Edmarc.
One makes deliveries and pick ups, the other is in charge of the silent auction at the festival. They both became hooked on Edmarc and serve with Peace by Piece – a children and teen grief support group. They also help with Camp M.A.G.I.C. (My Active Grieving Instills Courage) and work tirelessly to make sure the holidays are bright for the children and families of Edmarc. Whenever they are needed – from Nor’Easter preparations to delivering groceries – these honorees are there.
In the last year alone, they have given nearly 500 hours in volunteer service to Edmarc.
Always doing for others…Our Partners On Your Side and WAVY-TV honor JOHN & DOROTHY BELL among our 10 WHO CARE.
