Ahmed Fareed

Ahmed Fareed is the newest member of the WAVY-TV 10 sports team. He came to WAVY from the cold state of Michigan.

Prior to WAVY-TV, Ahmed worked in Lansing as the weekend sports anchor for WSYM and WILX. After shoveling snow in May, Ahmed jumped at the chance to join the WAVY/WVBT sports team.

Ahmed is the anchor for the FOX 43 Sportswrap on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10:45 p.m. You can also see his sports stories during the week on WAVY-TV.

Covering local college and high school sports is Ahmed's favorite part of the job. He was able to follow the Virginia Wesleyan men's basketball team as they captured the school's first ever national championship. In fact, Ahmed has had a lot of excitement in Hampton Roads. His first story in town was Duke's last second, half-court shot to beat Virginia Tech.

When not at work, Ahmed enjoys spending time at the beach with his dog, Digger.

Ahmed is a proud graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication.
