Ali Lucia

Ali Lucia is the newest member of the WAVY/Fox43 sports department.

Ali joins us from Fox 47 in Rochester, Minn., where she was the 9 p.m. news anchor. However, on her days off from news she worked for Big Ten Network, Fox Sports North and KSTC-TV.

The beach and the Hampton Roads area is very appealing to Ali. She was born in Fairbanks, Alaska before moving to Colorado and then eventually Minnesota, so she is ready for some warm weather.

She is also excited that there is hockey in Hampton Roads. She grew up at the rink. Ali's brother, Tony, plays in the AHL for Worcester Sharks. Her dad, Don, is the head men's hockey coach at the University of Minnesota. Her teenage brother Mario is a rising young hockey prospect. Her sister, Jessica, was an all-american volleyball player. Ali calls herself the "non" college athlete of the family.

Ali is a big fan of the Big Ten. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a double major in broadcast journalism and communication studies. During college Ali worked for Gopher football and basketball programs.

In her spare time Ali enjoys running and pottery. She also volunteers for the American Heart Association, Highland Friendship Club, and LEAD Project.
