Erin Kelly is an Emmy award-winning reporter who joined the WAVY TV 10 and FOX43 team in August 2013.
She was born in Portsmouth and is back in Hampton Roads from Jackson, Miss., where she reported at WAPT. Erin extensively covered the hit-and-run hate crime murder of James Craig Anderson and the controversy over former Governor Haley Barbour's pardons of Mississippi inmates. She witnessed and reported on the execution of death row inmate, Benny Joe Stevens.
Erin has worked as a writer and the Natalie Jacobson Reporting Fellow at WCVB in Boston, Mass. She also interned at New England Cable News and WJAR in Providence, R.I.
Erin is a graduate of Providence College and Boston University, where she received a Master's degree in broadcast journalism. She was the Dennis Kauff Scholar at BU and earned an AP award for her work on a radio documentary about juvenile life without parole sentences.
Erin's military family moved from Portsmouth to Annapolis, Md. when she was young, so she is excited to have the opportunity to cover her new "old" home. She loves sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, running, and the Boston Red Sox.
